Symantec Managed Public Key Infrastructure Web Application

Building on the progress we made creating a completely new information security application from the ground up at VeriSign, our team continued at Symantec to rebrand the UI and shape it in to a product aimed toward large enterprise customers.

Above: User dashboard for the web based application. The dashboard needed to provide Public Key administrators an easy overview of certificate lifecycle in the enterprise. Admins could get an overview of how many of each kind of certificates were being consumed, how many over time, as well as status of the overall system. The dashboard was also a launching point for managing users, certificate authorities (CAs), performance data, and reporting.

Above: This is an example of a UI when an admin is managing a user and the certificates that user consumed. I developed a UI template that utilized shifting panels to deal with screen size issues and keep all of the relevant information in front of the user.

Above: A sketch showing how the UI could shift to focus on the UI that was the most relevant to the user at that point in the workflow.

×

Above: Illustration of how the sliding panel behavior keeps the relevant parts of the UI in focus no matter the width of the window.

Symantec Manged Public Key Infrastructure Desktop Client Console

A desktop client that allowed end users perform lifecyle management on their digital certificates.

Symantec Managed PKI App

We also created an app for Android where users could install and manage digital certificates on their device.

Symantec Managed PKI Iconography

I was also the visual designer for much of the life of the project, creating visual UI design within the Symantec branded framework.
